

It follows the same cast of characters from the first Halo Wars, only many years later in a conflict that takes place after Halo 5. The Halo universe does a great job of making these standard units more exciting by giving taking fan favorite vehicles and units from the main series. Especially when things are this much fun, even in the face of a few tedious levels. However, given how long it's been since the first game came out, and the lack of RTS options on consoles, this is a flaw that's pretty easy to overlook.

The campaign offers some inventive new scenarios and the multiplayer has received an expansion in the amount of modes offered, but it's still just more of the same. Not much has changed from the precious Halo Wars in terms of gameplay. A pretty big achievement in it's own right. This welcomed spin-off to the Halo series may not be the most complex RTS out there, so don't expect it to hold a candle to the big boys of the genre, but it still does a great job of bringing the experience to console gamers.
